It’s been a while that I’ve posted something here on my blog, but from now on, I’ll be updating it regularly.
The last night encounter was between Germany (pre-tournament favorites to reach the Euro 2008 quarterfinals) and Crotia. The Croats stunned Germans 2-1 with brilliant display of attacking play and excellent defence. The Croatia tops the Group-B table with 6 points; Germany, Austria and Poland are other teams in this group.

Safin beats Qureshi
Hats off to Qureshi, Pakistani Grand Slam Debutant
Court 18
Wimbledon 2nd Round match
Russian Safin (Russia) Vs. Qureshi (Pakistan)
Results
1st set 6-4 36-minutess Safin
2nd set 6-2 27- minutes Safin
3rd set 7-6 56-minutes Safin
Safin hates playing on grass and always complaints about playing on it. It took 1 hour and 59 minutes for him to win his 2nd round match by defeating Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi. Russian was far more experienced than the Pakistani tennis star and the same worked for him. Qureshi desperately tried, he was very good at serves, but unable to return the depth shots. Safin will most probably play against 4 times Champion, Roger Federer in the 3rd round of Wimbledon 2007.
“Pakistani people love Sports, and Qureshi, accomplished volleyer, is a great representative of Pakistan. This is a big exposure for him and he will learn many things from this experience.” These were the words of the commentator. (I was watching live).
